He was foaled in Arizona on April 28, 2012, and is our youngest resident. An untimely injury ended what promised to be a very successful career. He won the Arizona Breeder's Futurity in his 4th start as a two-year-old. In his three-year-old year, he won the Gene Fleming Breeders' Derby at Turf Paradise in Arizona. He then shipped to Arapahoe Park in Colorado and ran second in the Inaugural Stakes. A fractured sesamoid ended his career. After 8 months of stall rest and evaluations by many different veterinarians, it was determined that this speedy athlete could race no more. Responsible owner, Michael Feigenbaum, and devoted trainer, Bob Hazel, contacted Equine Encore Foundation regarding retiring Prospector's Blues. Mr. Hazel personally delivered the horse to ensure that he would be in a good place. We salute this owner/trainer team for their concern and responsible retiring of this talented Thoroughbred!
